There's no need to rush out at dawn because most malls in America open around 10 a.m. You could sleep until you wake up on your own, take your time getting ready, and you can start your day looking good!

Before you start shopping, burger fans can stop at In-N-Out. It’s one of the most famous burger chains on the West Coast, and its slogan is “Quality you can taste.” They have a secret menu as well as a regular menu and you can find that on their company website. If you're located in a Chinese neighborhood, you will also be able to find a breakfast that many Chinese tourists miss: pan-fried buns, soy milk, xiaolongbao, and more. 😊

The most classic way to spend a day in Los Angeles is Santa Monica Beach — Beverly Hills — Hollywood — Griffith Observatory.

Santa Monica Beach

Leave at 10 a.m. for your first stop, Santa Monica Beach.

Santa Monica Beach

Address: 100 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401. Out of all the beaches, Santa Monica is one of the safest beaches. There are many restaurants near the beach, but they tend to be on the expensive side. However, it might be worth it, considering that you can eat while watching one of the best sunsets in Los Angeles. You might also get lucky and see a celebrity nearby. Oh, and be prepared to pay about $12 for parking.

Ocean view, I have always liked the Santa Monica Ferris wheel.

Santa Monica Pier Ferris wheel

It may not be cutting edge or all that new or especially tall, but located by the beach, the pier has the perfect vibe. \nDon't worry about parking, the beach has ample parking lots, so circle around and choose whichever one is best for you. \nSanta Monica sits on the last stop of Route 66, so souvenirs with the street name are everywhere and snapping a picture with the street sign is a must. \nIf you walk past all the buzzing souvenir stands and eateries to the edge of the pier, you'll find local fishermen. With a fishing license, you're allowed to keep what you catch, but fines are severe for any fishing that is done without a license. \nYou may see police on horseback, and if you're really lucky you might be able to get a photo with them. They won't always agree to it though. \nPeople watching may be at an all-time high at the beach with so many people in bikinis. There are plenty of restaurants on the water where you can take a break from strolling on the beach to grab lunch or afternoon tea. If you're not actually hungry grab a drink and take in the ocean's view from the window. \nMy perspective is simple, don't let the beach restaurants intimidate you. They may be a little pricier than normal, but the prices are not sky-high the way many expect them to be. If one looks good to you, go in, and the service is all part of the experience. \nWe went to a restaurant called Lobster that was by the beach entrance. Lobster is their specialty as the name suggests, and you may have it steamed or grilled. I liked the grilled one better.\n \n After finishing your meal, head across the street towards downtown Santa Monica and check out Third Street. It's a walking only zone where street performers entertain while you go shopping. There are a variety of places to eat and shop, from luxury brands to simple clothes and shoe stores.\n\n \n Beverly Hills\n\n Contrary to what you may believe, Beverly Hills is not the name of a mountain. It is one of the highly regarded cities in Los Angeles, known for its affluent residential streets, high-end shopping, houses of Hollywood stars, and the entertainment industry. The main street of Beverly Hills is Wilshire Boulevard, which is lined with banks and high-end department stores. The Beverly Center which is close to it is a shopping center that is also popular among stars.\n\n This is one of the must-take pictures in Beverly Hills\n\n The main shopping street in the area is Rodeo Drive. It has some of the priciest stores in all of Southern California. Each shop has a unique style and all the jewelry and clothing stores have beautiful decorations and displays in their windows.\n\n Simply being on this street is enough reason to shop, even if you didn't plan to buy anything.\n\n It is common to see expensive cars driving by, and their loud engines are enough to grab everyone's attention. If you're lucky, you may even see a celebrity.\n\n The entire area is very fancy and high class. The Ice Cream Lab on Santa Monica Boulevard can be a less expensive luxury experience for those who cannot spend on the more exclusive Beverly Hills offerings. Designed molecular ice cream right in front of you, and screams luxury. It offers ice cream like any other place, but the difference lies in the preparation of the ice cream. Instead of using a traditional freezing method, they utilize liquid nitrogen. 9461 S Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, (310) 795-6505. After the stores on Santa Monica Boulevard close, the street becomes less crowded. The windows are filled with the latest see through displays of expensive fashion. Rodeo Drive is the perfect spot for fine dining outside, and looking over the displays of haute-couture. Your visit in Beverly Hills is probably going to start around 4-5 p.m. If so, be ready to start your journey home. But if by any chance, a detour is up to your liking, take the road through the posh side of Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills attracts the wealthiest people of the world, including celebrities and artists. Head up the hills. The first article listed Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Shaquille O'Neal. It also listed Chloë Moretz, Jackie Chan, Emma Roberts, the owner of Playboy magazine, and David and Victoria Beckham, who moved to Beverly Hills in the summer of 2007 as David Beckham continued his professional football career. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt also lived together in a Beverly Hills house.

Many estates are so magnificent, and so blocked by gates, walls, and landscaping that it feels as if they are so isolated that they are other worlds. The entrances and drives are visible, but not the houses, the owners, or where the properties stop.

In truth, the house with the most visible front gate may not even be the most private one. The most private houses show virtually only walls, trees, and some masonry.

Of the one person seen walking a dog, one may have been household staff. The article mentions that residents of Beverly Hills are advised not to approach residents as it is a neighborhood where privacy is very understandable.

Continue around this time to the Hollywood Walk of Fame around 5 or 6 p.m.

A visit to the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd to see the hand and footprints of some of the great stars is one of the most important places in Hollywood.

If time permits, buy a movie ticket to see the Chinese Theatre from the inside. The initial post on Weibo includes a description, along with photos of the theater's interior. The theater's forecourt is a major attraction and features impressions left by 173 stars. Visitors snap photos of their favorite celebrities' prints or match their hands or feet against the impressions. Among those honored are Shirley Temple, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Michael Jackson. John Woo's handprint is opposite the Chinese Theatre. For some inexplicable reason, I chose to take a photo only with one star on the Walk of Fame: Mickey Mouse. A huge crowd gathers around Michael Jackson's star. Costumed characters roam the Walk of Fame and offer to take pictures with visitors. If one of them is a character you like, you can take a souvenir photo, but be prepared to tip — $1 per person, or $2 for a group picture if two characters join. Next to the Chinese Theatre is the Highland Center, which offers shopping and dining, and is one of the notable points of the Walk of Fame. For those looking to avoid the noise and activity of the crowd, try the Japanese restaurant on the third floor. From the elevator, head straight through to the end;

the view is wide open, and you'll have it mostly to yourself. For a unique experience, head up the playful piano staircase that connects the Chinese Theatre to the Highland Center. Many notes may be played depending on which keys are stepped on; if the stairs are silent, you could possibly play a song.

This is the most important thing to know about the Walk of Fame. Other things near it include bars, Muji, Fresh & Easy, and Madame Tussauds. Unless you have never been to a wax museum, you could skip it and go to the last place, which is Griffith Observatory. The view is the real prize.

Griffith Observatory

2800 E Observatory Rd
Los Angeles, CA 90027
Griffith Park
(213) 473-0800

The observatory is open until 10 p.m. If you want to see the night view and the exhibits, plan to leave by 7:30 p.m. I got there early because I wanted to see the sunset.

That day was a very crowded day, so we had to walk a long distance after parking. Fortunately, I don’t usually take photos of the views along the walk, but I did capture a lot of them.

Griffith Observatory sunset

At the observatory, you can see the white Hollywood sign on the other hillside along with downtown Los Angeles and the entire city skyline. All the hiking dirt trails in the surrounding hills are inviting, and there are always some groups with backpacks in ridges and paths. In this large park, there are many people who come to hike the hills around the observatory.

Many movies make downtown Los Angeles look glamorous and rich. The complete cityscape offers a clearer understanding of Los Angeles. There are pockets of beauty in the urban sprawl, but a lot of the city is mundane, and that’s the more truthful take.

The observatory is situated in the hills to the northwest of downtown Los Angeles, across from the Hollywood Hills. It is one of the signature buildings of the city and has been a filming location for Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, GoldenEye, and Grand Theft Auto V.

The sunset counter began as we reached the top. The remaining light softened everything, making the landscape and the people in it look nicer.

While the city lights come on, you can explore the observatory. The explanations of the principles of astronomy are pretty good, and the displays allow you to understand complex remote phenomena. You have to see the exhibits in person; photos cannot substitute for this. The observatory is public; thus, the exhibition halls and film auditorium are free. The largest room for presenting astronomy exhibitions is paid; there are 8-10 English language shows each day.

After a quick visit inside, go outside again for the incredible view at night. It can get cool on the hill after dark, so bring a jacket. This is the perfect place to finish the day: Los Angeles is spread out below you, and all you can see are thousands of lights.

This itinerary prevents you from retracing your steps, flowing from the beach to the observatory. If your priority is to watch the sunset at the beach, plan your timing well and adjust the order of the stops accordingly.
